What we do

The platform · Instly Vita

In development

Vital signs from a camera. No wearables. No clinic visit.

Turn any phone or laptop camera into a contactless vital-signs reader. A 60-second face scan returns heart rate, heart-rate variability and respiration rate — each with a confidence score.

Best for: Insurers, wellness programmes and sports organisations

Instly Vita

Three metrics. Deliberately narrow.

Instly Vita measures only what a camera-based system can measure accurately and honestly. No overclaiming.

Heart rate

Beats per minute derived from the pulse waveform in facial skin. Accurate to within clinical tolerance on validated skin tone range.

Heart rate variability (RMSSD)

Beat-to-beat interval variation — the most-used recovery signal in real sports science. HRV against personal baseline is what Instly Vita tracks over time.

Respiration rate

Breathing rate derived from how respiration modulates the pulse waveform. Breaths per minute, with confidence score.

Not claimed

Instly Vita does not claim to measure: Blood pressure · SpO2 · BMI · Cholesterol. These require different hardware. We don't estimate them.

The rPPG pipeline.

Remote photoplethysmography — a camera picks up the tiny rhythmic colour changes in facial skin as blood volume pulses with each heartbeat.

01 · Capture

60 seconds of face video. Steady framerate, even light, still subject.

02 · Isolate

MediaPipe isolates the skin region — forehead and cheeks. Filters out background and hair.

03 · Extract

Average R/G/B per frame → three time-series signals.

04 · Filter

POS/CHROM algorithm cancels motion and lighting artefacts, surfacing the pulse waveform.

05 · Analyse

Detrend and bandpass to the human pulse band (0.7–4 Hz). HR from dominant frequency. HRV from beat-to-beat intervals. Respiration from wave modulation.

06 · Output

HR · HRV (RMSSD) · Respiration rate · Confidence score · Signal quality grade. Bad scans suppressed — no junk output.

Two genuinely hard problems. Named honestly.

Frame timing and compression

Phones shoot variable framerates. Browsers over-compress video. Either wrecks the signal. Instly Vita handles both — but this is where accuracy degrades first.

Accuracy on darker skin tones

rPPG is weakest on darker skin tones — and that is exactly the cohort of our first deployment. We are building a Polar H10 chest-strap validation loop to measure error stratified by skin tone. That validation earns the trust.

Live first in sports science.

Instly Vita's first home is the Hubi sports portal — athlete recovery and readiness monitoring. An athlete scans their face, readings trend against their personal baseline, and feed the existing H-Score radar chart and AI narrative.

HRV against personal baseline is the most-used recovery signal in real sports science. A face scan makes it frictionless.

The insurance path.

An owned, validated camera-vitals engine that carries into insurance — wellness programmes, employee benefits underwriting, and contactless monitoring as an engagement or risk signal.

The narrow metric set is the point. Aimed at buyers who would distrust a 30-marker consumer gimmick.
